During the drought I barely had to work.
Just the inconvenience of being covered in dry, dusty dirt!
What joy there was when the water came back.
With a great deal of enthusiasm we stated to bring the farm back.
Lucerne seed was the gold we would sow
It was like planting an overdraft just to watch it grow!
Bring in the bees, they'll pollinate the flower
But my allergies made their existence turn sour.
Howlin' bloody gales won't let the flowers set
Empty field bins were all we could get.
You reckon we'd be happy to have athe water back
But now we have snakes, mozzies and a pissed off Ack!

What is it we love most about a glass of red?
It is because our work is done we'll soon be off to bed
It's just as nice at lunch sitting in the sun

A few years ago I did solemnly pray.
For a Howlin' Gale to keep the mozzies at bay.
Well the Howlin' Gale has come along every day.
But sadly hasn't kept...
